Wallflower Story

My work speaks to the relationship between the growth that occurs in nature and the growth that I experience in my own life. Just as mother nature pieces together leaves on a plant to create a larger organism, I piece together smaller slip-cast elements to create a larger whole. The simplified geometric shapes found in my fine art ceramic wallflowers mirror the shapes of leaves found in nature, reflecting the beautiful geometry of the natural world. These thoughtful pieces create a ceramic garden where one can relax and contemplate the relationship between what nature creates and what people create. The latest innovation in this process combines large, rough stoneware pieces with delicate porcelain sculptures, creating a tension that reflects the challenges I’ve faced during a time of intense personal change.
Meet the Wallflowers
Small Wallflower
approximately 6 inches across and 3 inches tall. $150 each. This piece is glazed with glacier as the base glaze and no highlight color.
Split-Leaf Wallflower
approximately 7 inches across and 3 inches tall. $175 each. This piece is glazed with sangria as the base color and purple as the highlight color.
Scoop-Leaf Wallflower
approximately 6 inches across and 3 inches tall. $150 each. This piece is glazed with catus as the base glaze and no highlight color.
Medium Wallflower
approximately 8 inches wide and 4 inches tall. $175 each. This piece is glazed with coral sands as the base color and sangria as the highlight color.
Oval-Leaf Wallflower
approximately 9 inches wide by 4 inches tall. $200 each. This piece is glazed with bougainvillea as the base color and Glacier as the highlight color.
V Leaf Wallflower
approximately 10 inches wide and 4 inches tall. $225 each. This piece is glazed with papaya as the base color and bougainvillea as the highlight color.
Five Leaf Wallflower
approximately 10 inches wide and 4 inches tall. $250 each. This piece is glazed with purple as the base and cactus as the highlight color.
Large Wallflower
approximately 12 inches tall, 9 inches wide, and 4 inches tall. $275 each. This piece is glazed with frosted lemon as the base color and coral sands as the highlight color.
Available Colors
Each wall flower is a combination of two glazes, a base color with a top or highlight color to add depth. Because of this each piece is unique and no two wallflowers are exactly alike. Above you will find some examples of these color combinations with a list of the colors I generally keep in my studio below. Custom color palettes are available for an upcharge of 10% and a minimum order of five pieces. Please email me if you would like more information about custom colors.
